The Twin Policy Challenges Of Medicare Physician Payment And Medicaid

Wilensky was administrator from February 1990 to March 1992. She also served as deputy assistant for policy development (on health and welfare issues) to President George H.W. Bush from 1992 to 1993.

Abstract

The CMS has a demonstration under way that rewards excellence for physicians who practice in large group practices. However, most physicians practice in small groups or in solo practices; therefore, reforming physician payment in ways that would improve their incentives will be more difficult.
