The Devilish Details Of Delivering On Global Health

THIS ISSUE OF HEALTH AFFAIRS is devoted to delivering health care in developing countries. In many respects, it’s a bookend to our July/August 2007 issue on global health financing. Tackling these separately has been a somewhat artificial act; after all, even as we focus on delivery this year, we know that funding is critical to meeting more health needs of low- and middle-income countries. The Obama administration proposes to raise U.S. federal spending on global health from about $8.2 billion in 2009 to about $12 billion to $13 billion annually in 2014.
