Re: Medicare And Medicaid Waiting Periods

Aurora Lifetools represents people trying to get disability benefits, including many SSI cases. There are so many who would qualify medically, but can't because they have not been able to keep up with necessary treatment due to lack of coverage. Most states won't grant "temporary" Medicaid. The average waiting time is usually much longer than stated in this article.

We have children whose parent(s) have assets, such as two cars or more than $2-3000, who can't qualify. We have people who are dying while waiting.

I went through this myself. If it weren't for occasional assistance, I would have gone 2 1/2 years without treatment. Something has to change -- NOW! If we can help advocate for this, we'd be glad to join you. There is much more to be said. You want proof? Ask the thousands of applicants who are caught in this time warp!
